TEXT:   ESSENTIALS OF BUSINESS STATISTICS  by Bowerman, O'Connell, and Orris
GRADING:  Grading will be on a 10 point scale and will consist of    4  tests (mwf) or 3 tests (TTH) or 3 tests in summer school and  1  final  exam.
Grades are an indication of what you earn through out the semester and NOT what you can beg for after your exam has been taken.
YOU must take responsibility NOW to keep your average high enough to get into the school of business or to graduate or to keep a scholarship.

TESTS:  NO MAKE UP TESTS FOR ANY REASON.  Early tests are allowed if you see me ahead of time.  .  You are allowed to bring a  3x5 resource card for each test.

HOMEWORK:  Textbook assignments are listed on my web page and correlates with class lectures.    Although homework and worksheets are not regularly turned in, you are expected to be mature and responsible  and complete these assignments. I suggest a three ring loose leaf notebook and DATED class notes  We will check much of this work in class by my allowing time at the end of class for you to ask questions.  You are encouraged to have two study partners in this class this semester. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sometimes I will spot check homework in class and you can earn bonus points.
EXAM:  The comprehensive final exam will be held on _____________________.  No make ups for the exam.

ATTENDANCE:  Roll will be taken during each class session.  Tardies/early leaves will be recorded .    You do not have to show me documentation of why you are absent because I do not record reasons for absences.  Good attendance and good homework habits usually result in a better grade for yourself. PLEASE NOTE:  You must attend 80% of your classes to be allowed to take the exam.  Otherwise you will receive a "0" for your exam grade. At the end of the semester I will announce a bonus point plan for students who have 3 or less absences in a MWF class or who have 2 or less absences in a TTH class or 2 or less in summer school.  Also at the end of the semester, there will be announced an exam exemption policy.  Bonus and exemption plans are GIFTS and so there will be no arguing or begging.  One more note about absences.
We all experience the loss of loved ones, accidents, flu, etc.  I would encourage you to NOT be absent so that if one of these tragedies should occur, you  will not
miss too much class.  If you have been absent for five days and then you break your leg, you have put yourself in a position that might lead to failure.
Good attendance is a reflection on your good judgment and maturity.
MANNERS:
Please turn off cell phones and pagers before entering class. Do not use as a time piece.
Please let me know if you have to leave early.
Please no disruptive talking while roll is called and when lecture is presented.
