“Free Donations” Websites

A wonderful kind of site that encourages you to click to send a donation at no cost to you!

NOTE: I have found these sites to be safe.  They NEVER email you without your consent, so don’t worry over entering your email address if you register with a site.  Registration is always optional, and if you do register with some sites, they’ll track how many days you have clicked to donate.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: A problem I’ve noticed with most sites that catalogue “free donation” websites is that, invariably, there are broken links.  This kind of site often has a set lifespan, as most companies are unwilling to sponsor free donations ad infinitum.  It also takes a great deal of effort to sort through all of these links.  Never fear!  I actually made this page for the express purpose of facilitating my own daily clicking.  So, if there’s a broken link, I’ll know within a day.  Feel free to hyperlink to my page so that you can use it, too!

The Cutest Concept Award

http://www.pajacyk.pl/

This site is in Polish, but you’ll find the site to be very self-explanatory.  Basically, there’s a large, unhappy wooden puppet with a hole in its abdomen.  When you move your cursor over that hole, the puppet becomes happy!  This site never fails to make me smile.

The Beautiful Concept Award

https://www.ecotonoha.com/ecotonoha.html

A Japanese-based site that allows visitors to add a leaf to a virtual tree once per day.  The site donates trees for a proportion of the number of leaves put onto their virtual trees.  People from all over the world add leaves to the tree – you can write your name and a short message to the world on your leaf.

The Convenience Award

http://www.geocities.com/dailyfreedonation/

This is a wonderful site from Portugal that serves as a convenient reminder service – every couple of days, you receive an email with a  link to a different click-to-donate site.  A great service for people who don’t have the time to do a full tour of websites every day but still want to participate.

Multi-charity pages: The Big Hitters

http://www.freedonation.com/

This is one of the only sites that allows you to click-to-donate more than once per day.  You can make a maximum of 20 “donations” per project per day.  There are 8 different charities, ranging from promoting the arts to defeating poverty.

http://www.thehungersite.com/

One of the classic free donation sites, this site has very convenient links to its 5 sister sites: Breast Cancer, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest, and Stray Animals.  It’s one-stop shopping!  The only downfall is that there is no registration option so that you can track your donations.  However, there’s some awesome shopping offered relating to their respective causes.

http://www.klickdiespende.de/

This site is in German.  From what I can translate, however, there are 4 underlined links (each one “buried” in a short, descriptive sentence) that you can click once per day.  I believe each click donates a fraction of a Euro towards its 4 charities: Sumatran tigers, Greenpeace, AIDS in Uganda… and homelessness.  I think.  Then again, I’m not entirely sure this language is even German.

Track your donations!

http://www.care2.com/click2donate/

My personal favorite because there are so many great charities, and you can click on every single one!  Plus, if you register on the site for free, the site will track how much you have donated overall.  There’s nothing quite like seeing how many mammograms you’ve funded or how many pieces of fruit you’ve provided for a hungry primate.  It keeps me coming back every single day.

http://www.hungerfighters.com/

Click the green “Fight Hunger” button.

http://www.dameunacasa.com/index2.html

Each click on the “Click here and donate many bricks” button gives a couple of bricks to complete a home for a poor family.

http://www.ecologyfund.com/ecology/_ecology.html

Hooray!  One of my favorite sites is back up and working again!  This one is, like all the others, very simple.  Go to the page.  Click on the red buttons that say “click here for ____”.  You can also register to track your donations, but you are not required to.

http://www.redjellyfish.com/

Registration is optional, and it’s fun to track your progress.  Here there are two buttons you can click; one

is to feed the chimps and the other is to protect old growth forest.  You can click on both once per day.

Hunger, Poverty, and Homelessness

http://www.fighthunger.org/home

These people are determined to end hunger by the year 2015.  Let’s do it!

http://www.cliquesemiarido.org.br/eng/default.asp

A click on the big, round button with a picture of a large drop of water on it helps to provide clean, safe water for the poor.

http://www.pureaqua.org/?c=SE&l=EN&p=&q=';return%20true;

Each click means 1 glass of clean water.

http://www.feedsa.co.za/

Pretty self-explanatory.  The button says, “Click here to donate for free” to feed the hungry in South Africa.

http://www.povertyfighters.com/

Just click on the orange-bordered oval saying “Click here”.  This adds $0.25 to a loan to the poor.

http://www.stopthehunger.com/hunger/

Another obvious button, but this one is yellow.

http://www.hungrychildren.com/index.html

On this site, the buttons are not so big, but they still say “Help a child”. If you have an extra moment, clicking one of the two sponsor links (for surveys and MP3 players) also helps.  For every 1000 visitors to those sites, the companies will donate even more money.  I myself try to stick with one so that I can put as many clicks towards one site as possible.

http://www.porloschicos.com/PorLosChicos.net/

In Spanish.  Click on the large round, blue button that says “Gratis”.  Cute because when you move the cursor on top of the button, the button changes into a green smiley face.  Click the smiley face to make the donation.

http://www.clickfome.com.br/

Click on the rectangular, colorful button with the kid on it.

http://www.againsthunger.org/

Pick a category, any category.

http://www.sitedafome.com.br/

Click the red button saying “Dorcao”.  It also has a moving red arrow pointing right at it.

http://www.jazzcidadania.org/

Click the big blue button that says “Um colo para cada crianca”.

http://www.woordendaad.nl/

In Dutch.  Click on either the red round button or the red link next to it.

http://www.donarsindesembolsar.net/

Click one of the blinking company logos.  On the next page, click the blue button that says “Donar”.

http://dsmith11.tripod.com/

Also known as the E-philanthropy site.  Click the obvious button!

http://www.esperanza.org.ar/ing/800x600/home.html

Click on the “Donations” link to the right of the picture of the family.

http://www.hambruna.com/

Click on the “Click to Find Here” button.  Should be pretty easy to spot; it has a bull’s eye on it.  I do not know if you actually have to run a search to donate, so I search something every day, just in case.

http://www.ewi.com/needy/

You can only click once per week to donate a liquid vitamin supplement to the poor.  I’m going to do this on Sundays, just so I don’t lose track.

Education

http://www.e-inclusionsite.org/en/index.php

Click on the top clover or the word “Donate” right next to it to bridge the virtual divide.

http://www.twowings.or.at/englisch/e_index.html

Click the blinking blue button “Help free of charge”.

http://www.fundamar.com/port_br/

Scroll down the main page slightly until you see the blinking button with a cartoon man pointing to it.  Click on that button.

Back to top of page

Conservation, Animals, and the Environment

http://www.clickforwolves.com/

A site that is pretty explanatory.  There are three buttons.  The one to your most left is the one you click.  The middle one is for a wolf environment one that has ended already, and the one on the right is a link to a great book about the endangerment of wolves.  Go check it out!

http://www.landcareniagara.com/

Click on the link to plant a tree.  Every 5 clicks leads to 1 tree being planted.  I especially like thinking about all the trees that I’ve helped to plant.  Unfortunately, there’s no tracking on this site, either.

http://www.theenvironmentsite.org/donate.php

Straightforward; click the green button.

http://site.voila.fr/cparot/waste/index.htm

Click the “Clean up now” button.

http://conservebirdhabitat.com/donation.htm

Click the white banner at the bottom of the screen

http://www.solarsite.net/

Click the abstract button in the middle of the page to donate a kilowatt of solar energy!

http://www.diewaldseite.de/

Click on the red “Stop!” button below the count-up timer that is expressing the area of wildlife being destroyed as you are looking at the site.  Hurry up and click!!!

http://www.ettklickforskogen.se/engelska/ettKlickeng.asp

Click the obvious grey “Click here” button to save the forest.

http://www.giveusahome.co.uk/banners/banner1.htm

This link is out of the U.K. and has some images that no longer load.  The button to click is the one that is most to the right: a rectangle that is taller than it is wide.  These clicks donate food to animals in shelters.

http://www.tree4life.com/ingles/ingles.htm

Clicking on the map of the world ought to donate protection for a tree.  Patience with this one; it often takes a long time to load.

Health Issues

http://www.matercare.org/

Go to the “Donate” drop down menu and select “Lifesaver” in order to donate 2 cents

towards helping women undergoing obstetric procedures.

http://www.craigresearchlabs.com/cancer.html

Pretty simple. Click the obvious button.  For this site it is especially important to allow the “thank you” page to load, if you do otherwise, your click will not count.

http://www.thestophivsite.com/

Obvious button here, too.

http://www.giveaminute.org/

Click on the white banner to donate a minute of healthcare to a needy child.

http://www.clickajuda.com.br/default2.asp

I think this page is in Portuguese.  The concept is pretty simple, though.  They have seven categories

of charities.  You can only pick one charity per day.  These categories are:

  1. Physical deficiencies
  2. Visual defects
  3. Elderly
  4. Education
  5. Cancer/Environment
  6. Infants
  7. Hunger

http://www.ayudaresgratis.com/

Apparently you don’t have to click anything at all, just visiting the page is enough.

If I find out more, I’ll keep you updated.
