Mucopolysaccharide (MPS) Disorders: Information for

Parents, Educators and School Psychologists

These pages are intended to provide parents, educators, psychologists, and other service personnel information about the mucopolysaccharide (MPS) disorders. The MPS disorders include Hurler Syndrome, Scheie Syndrome, Hurler-Scheie Syndrome, Hunter Syndrome, Sanfilippo Syndrome, Morquio Syndrome, Maroteaux Syndrome, and Sly Syndrome. Little information is readily available about the disorders, especially the educational and behavioral aspects of the disorders. It is a research interest of mine, and I am interested in hearing from parents, educators or service providers who have questions or comments about these disorders, particularly with regard to behavior and educational issues. If you are an educator, school psychologist or other service provider and are seeking information or assistance with a child with an MPS disorder, feel free to drop me an email.
